Welcome to my reclaimed art page, as a naturalist/artist I use found and trashed items to create my one of a kind paintings and sculptures.

My goal is to use my creative talent and love of art, wildlife and God's creation to create painting and sculptures that can be used in everyday décor for the home, garden and business.

living in South Eastern North Carolina, I have found that there is an abundance of Palm trees that are regularly pruned with its branches, and seed pods discarded or just left to rot. With an abundance of this discarded material around I have found that it is a great medium to carve and paint. I have used this material to create a multitude of fish and shore birds in two dimensional form as wall mounts and/or mounted on reclaimed wood such as drift plywood and vinyl flooring boards that have a backdrop scene painted  to give a life like setting to the pieces, as well as three dimensional free standing sculptures mounted on drift wood or found objects.

My paintings of marshes, seascapes, cypress swamps, birds and fish are also painted on found and reclaimed items and are painted using acrylic paint that has been sealed with varnish or resin to give it a durable finish as to allow outdoor mounting.

Pindo palm pods

Pindo palm pods have a unique bark that can be molded and used to create sculptures when dried.

Many of my creations are carved and painted palm pods

Images on the next page are created with this palm tree seed     pod.
